Source Church is partnering with Feeding the Orphans to make a difference in the lives of children for Orphan Sunday, November 6, 2011. Our goal: working together with several other local churches we’re looking to raise the $8,000 needed for a water well, to be located in the African village of Moewakpo in Ghana. This well would literally transform the health of the entire village into which it is being installed. With water-related illnesses claiming the life of a child every 20 seconds globally, and with six villagers having died this year alone from drinking water from their only current source, it’s easy to envision the change and hope a significant fresh water project like this would bring to their community. This project may be modest by western standards, but it’s monumental and transformational for this Ghanaian village. And you can make a difference!

Source is asking all our members and friends to consider contributing through the “Change for Change” program. Each Source family is given a one liter water bottle (more bottles available if you’d like, or if you’d care to share them with friends). After the water is empty, simply cut a hole for change in the bottle. Collect your loose change into the bottle for the next several weeks, and return it to Source. We ask that all money be turned in by November 14th at the very latest. Please contact us for more details.
